Makeup Starter Kit
Hi Everyone!
Today I decided to write a post for those of you who don't wear makeup yet or for those who are new to it.
The products that I'm going to mention are the ones I feel are essential in a starter kit.
I won't mention primers, highlighters, contours, blushers etc. as they aren't necessary for someone who is new to makeup.
For a beginner, I feel like wearing a full coverage foundation isn't necessary. If you do want a foundation that has more coverage than a BB cream I would really recommend the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. It's a light to medium coverage and it covers imperfections greatly. I have been using this product for a long time and it works great for my skin. It also comes in a variety of different shades so you can find your perfect shade!
On the other hand, if you're looking for something that has light coverage and can be worn on a daily basis Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream is your best friend there!
It creates a natural glow, complements your skin-tone, it feels very light and fresh and hydrates your skin all day. It also has SPF 30 and UV protection which is great as it protects your face from sun damage. It's something I love bringing with me on holidays. It's very easy to use on those days when I want some sort of coverage but I don't want to go full out. It also comes in a blue tube for dry skin types. This is definitely an essential in a starter kit.
For concealer I can't go without mentioning Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. It's very affordable and has great coverage, both for under the eyes as well as for any imperfections.
For powder, I would definitely recommend the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. It does what it says, it keeps your face matte for the whole day, I never have to reapply it. I use it in the shade 001 Transparent.
If you're looking to use a bronzer I would use the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzer. It's very pigmented so a little goes a long way. It blends easily and looks lovely on the skin. It also smells amazing!
As for eye shadows, I would recommend getting one palette that has all the shades you will ever need. I would definitely use either the Barry M Natural Glow Palette or the Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette. They both come with a variety of shades, light to dark with which you can create a day to night look. They are both very affordable, something that everyone should have in their kit if you're into eye shadow.
For mascara, there are a lot of great ones out there but the one I would choose is the Maybelline Falsies Mascara. It curls and lengthens eyelashes greatly and gives them that false lash effect. It's my favourite mascara of all time.
There is a ton of lip products in store. The ones that I would pick for a starter kit would definitely include a lip balm and a lipstick.
The lip balm I would recommend is the Nivea Lip Balm in Vanilla. There are other scents but this one is my favourite. It moisturises the lips for a long time and makes them super smooth.
As for the lipstick, I would pick the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick. There is a wide range of colours and they are great quality. They stay on the lips for a long time and have great colour pay-off.
The brushes you use to apply your makeup make a huge difference to what it actually looks like in the end. You can have great makeup but if you apply it wrong, it can look bad.
I would really recommend the Real Techniques Brushes as they are great quality. They apply makeup very smooth and make it look super nice. The brushes are all very soft and there's a brush for everything.
I feel like I have mentioned everything here. If you feel like I have left something out, feel free to leave it in the comments down below.
What are your go-to products that you feel should be in a starter kit?
I hope you enjoyed today's post.
Have a nice Sunday!
Great picks for those who are new to makeup. :)
